The Shamans Apprenticeship is an intensive, advanced format of Shamanic Soul Integration practice presented by Dermot O’Hara at the
The Apprenticeship is carried out with Dermot on either a private one on one basis or group this depends entirely on each individuals needs.
If you are considered a suitable candidate Dermot will work with you over a period of up to 5 years The cost for each year is a registration fee of 250 euros to register with the school as an apprentice for each year
For this membership you will receive individual tuition and attention on all evening classes weekend courses and seminars held by the school during that year.
During this time you will explore and work with Dermot exploring the various aspects of your psyches awareness that need to develop. This will in turn over a period of time safely open you up developing your shamanic conscious awareness and instinctive understanding of Shamanic Trance and Soul Integration practice. You will be taken into and taught the skill of Drum Making and Sweat Lodge building.
Dermot’s approach to shamanism and its healing therapeutic benefits are presented in a format that is compatible and easily integrated to complement modern psychiatry and medical practice .
The Apprenticeship embraces fully the beneficial therapeutic approach to recovery, presenting Shamanism as a fully integrated and legitimate path within the individual/ clients soul healing and recovery process . Many of to days modern therapeutic disciplines find their roots in Shamanism This Apprenticeship will prove to be an invaluable tool to all who take part further enhancing their professional skills as carers and healer within their community. This Apprenticeship will pay specific attention to the area of therapist burnout and its prevention through shamanic practice.
The Apprenticeship can last up to 5 years depending on each individuals needs
One of the most important areas within the apprenticeship is the resolution of emotional ,psychological and psychical conditions within our apprentices. Dermot maintains and demands a high standard of practice from all his apprentices and teachers This is clearly stated within the schools Code of practice.
For this Dermot has in place a team of experienced teachers available to provide ongoing support to each apprentice over the years of their development.
This is called work in progress as we at the school recognize that a Certificate or Diploma does not mean that any individual is ever finished their development rather it is merely an announcement as to where they are now on the journey. It also declares that they are fully committed to the further development and maintenance of their shamanic skills.
The monitoring and review of each Apprentice practical skills takes place yearly at our residential summer school This ensures their practice is up to standard and in line with the Code of practice presented by the school.
The Apprenticeship will be of particular benefit to those who have trained in the areas of Counselling, Nursing, Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, Hypnosis or General Medical practice as another tool to add to their skills as professional Carers. The Apprenticeship is not only a teaching module but is also a personal development journey of self awareness that will challenge those who take part at a very intense core level of personal and spiritual awareness.

This Apprenticeship you receive with Dermot will assist you in developing your right brain intuitive self awareness and instinctive understanding of Shamanic practice leading to a greater understanding of Soul Healing and Integration .
Those students who take part will experience an evolvement of their own self awareness and individual unique way of working with clients within the boundaries set out by the School. Honouring our own Irish uniqueness and learning the use of the Celtic Calendar and its teachings is seen by Dermot as an essential guide for all who wish to fully reintegrate and restore their Spirituality balance of conscious awareness.
